WELCOME TO THE QUILT

Little nudges.
Lovely strategy.

Each side begins with eight kittens. Choose a reserve piece and place it on any empty square. All eight adjacent neighbors are nudged one square outward. A kitten can only push kittens; an adult can push either size. Occupied destinations block a push. Pieces pushed off the quilt return to their owner’s reserve.

After your move, choose one line of three of your pieces to graduate: return all three to your reserve as adults. A mixed line counts. If all eight pieces are on the quilt without a line, return one kitten as an adult instead.

Win by lining up three adult cats, or by having all eight adults on the quilt. A push can give the other side a winning line, so plan carefully. When more than one graduation is possible, choose one highlighted line.
